While filming our one shot, we strapped a candle and our camera to the front of a toy car and drove through out mini set until you reach Fellini’s name. The next idea we tackled was lighting, as Fellini uses plenty of candles in his films we used a candle as our main light source. What we noticed as consistent throughout his films was a long zoom-in one-pan shot, so we knew we had to create a long un-cut shot in order to produce our trailer. We did this using photos of characters and scenes from his films and placing them in order chronologically. The tactic that we ended up deciding on was to creating a mini-set. We decided it was important to include the whole body of his work rather than a few films.

After deliberating we realized Fellini is especially tricky to represent as his style alters his early films are done in black and white where as his later films are done in color. Originally we wanted to compose a trailer out of objects, textiles, and images that we thought conveyed his style. Our strategy for our Federico Fellini mini trailer was devised by trying to capture his atmosphere.
